Peter Emerson
Peter Emerson is an artist based in southern Rhode Island, working exclusively from life. He first established himself as a marine artist with his award-winning oil paintings of various maritime subjects, eventually having work exhibited in the International Marine Art Exhibition and other shows at the Mystic Seaport.
Ever since his first house commission in 2012, Peter has been on an energetic quest to capture the strength and beauty of buildings the same way that he does with boats. He enjoys the collaboration with clients to create unique pieces of artwork, showcasing their residence, boat, business or chosen scene.

Working directly from life, Peter Emerson puts himself in the shoes of the 19th-century painters. Like those men and women, he does not carry a camera with him.
